Okay folks, thanks for your time and comments on my thoughts about what I felt after attack on my country. Some of you pointed that we need to do 'something' to improve ourselves and our country. And this something was typically 'reduce corruption', 'remove politician' or even a hoax that we use some section/sub-section 49-0 in our constituent (which is incorrect off course). I'm a patriotic no less than any of you. What I simply asked is what current status of my country is and why I should feel proud of it. There were no suggestions on that. Today I was forced to think about my own identity and my feeling towards my nation. Till Wednesday evening I was proud to be called an Indian. However, Mumbai attack forced me to think why I should be proud to be part of this country and I couldn't think of any thing optimistic. Indians or south Asians normally are very positive about life. They are fond of recollect old days memory (which are generally almost 400 years old) and try to be content thinking of prosperity their forefather enjoyed that time. Nevertheless, when I was asked why I'm proud of India so much I had to take some time to dig out the reasons. We have heard of n number of investment banks, retail banks and few insurance firms going down the drain because of ‘credit crunch’. Now it’s turn for few countries for a change. Reports are Iceland and Pakistan is near collapse if they do not act quickly.  To start with Pakistan is near defaulting its debt. Pakistan 's credit rating was cut by Standard & Poor's, which cited doubts about the country's ability to meet $3 billion in debt-servicing costs in the coming year.
